Clusters / plywood
I’ve worked with the Cluster format in several mediums, including porcelain, for a few years now. Essentially I’m looking at several photographs that have been incorporated into one mass over time. In porcelain, I looked into the overlapping frames that made indents and created a relief. On paper I created graphite washes that overlaid each other giving the impression of layers of tenses or moments. This approach with clean cut out edges made with layers of white acrylic suggest only an outline, hinting at individual forms but revealing nothing about their content, as is often the case with fossils.
