Wishing to continue with the webbed velvet technique (this time adding small handcut pieces of velvet to obscure the painting beneath), I came across this enigmatic image from the Brazil National Indian Foundation (Funai) on a BBC news article of a yet-to-be contacted tribe in the amazon. I loved the combination of the two perspectives – the aerial view from the photographer’s plane and the view from the people looking up – both parties clearly intrigued by the other.
